In order to contribute to environmental protection, Lok Mei have investigated and started to use recycled yarns (RPET yarns) in the production since 2010. Lok Mei and its label factory are the first RPET woven label manufacturer in Asia.
After many years of promotion, recycled yarns are commonly accepted by international brands, and textile yarn technology has become mature. Since 2020, 100% RPET warp yarn is produced in China. Lok Mei is one of the first 100%-RPET label manufacturer in China and Hong Kong.
In order to uphold the concept of environmental protection, Lok Mei changes all woven labels to recycled yarns in Hong Kong since late 2020, regardless of whether it is requested by customers, except to a few special yarns, such as Metallic yarn and synthetic fibers.
Meanwhile, Lok Mei promotes to use recycled materials in printed labels production. In last few years, over 80%Lok Mei produced printed labels are made from recycled materials. Some brands adopt 100% recycled materials already.
